Bulldogs rally for 5-2 victory over San Jacinto

Reichstein’s hit keys 5-run sixth inning as No. 16 Bulldogs beat No. 6 Gators

The No. 16-ranked Navarro Bulldogs halted a two-game losing streak with an imoportant road win, beating No. 6 San Jacinto 5-2 on Thursday afternoon in Houston.

Navarro rallied from a 2-0 deficit with five runs in the top of the sixth. Kaleb Goodell had an RBI single and Byron Reichstein a two-run hit to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead.

The Bulldogs won behind another strong start by Lukas Schiraldi and clutch pitching out of the bullpen. JD Hammer picked up the win in relief while Blake Griffin came up with a strikeout with the tying run up in the bottom of the ninth for the save.

Thursday’s game was a rematch of last year's regional final won by San Jacinto. Navarro played Grayson County CC later Thursday. The Bulldogs play Howard on Friday and Saturday in Houston.
