GC Girls Hoops: Mildred wins way into playoffs, beats Marlin 60-33

Corsicana — The Mildred Lady Eagles needed a win to get into the playoffs. The Mildred Lady Eagles are going to the playoffs with a dominating 60-33 win over the Marlin Lady Panthers in Normangee On Friday.

Mildred is in the playoffs for the first time since the 04-05 season.

Senior Olivia Farmer said "I have been waiting for this for four long years. It is a great feeling and I am so happy for this team."

Marlin scored the games first bucket but after a Maddie Moore 3-pointer, Mildred never trailed again in the game.

The Lady Eagles had four players in double figures led by Shelby Adamson with 13 and Raeleigh Bottoms with 11. Guards Farmer and Moore each chipped in 10 points and played smothering defense all game long for the Eagles.

Mildred will face Franklin in a bi-district game at a date and time to be determined.
