If you hear a Navarro softball coach or player muttering “rain, rain go away” the next time you’re around them, don’t be surprised.
Navarro had another doubleheader rained out Wednesday, this time a twinbill scheduled at Ranger. The Bulldogs have lost close to half of their scheduled games so far this season to bad weather.
The field in Ranger was too wet to play on, Navarro coach Jessica Karenke said Wednesday.
Navarro already has lost eight games to rain this season. The No. 15-ranked Bulldogs have played nine games this season and have a 4-5 record.
The Bulldog softball team had both of their home doubleheaders against Hill and Angelina postponed because of rain last week. The baseball team also had their first home game of the season slated for Monday against Weatherford canceled because of rain.
Navarro is next scheduled to play in the San Jacinto Round Robin on Saturday in Pasadena.
The Weather Channel forecasts partly cloudy skies with a 10 percent chance of rain Saturday in Pasadena.
The Bulldogs will be rooting for the other 90 percent. They want to play.
