Josee Ross tossed a five-inning no-hitter and Bethany Mason had two hits and two runs as Troup earned a shot at getting back to the championship with its third win of the day, beating West 10-0.
West 11, Whitehouse 5: The West Express scored six runs in the third inning on one hit, taking advantage of three errors in an elimination game.
Chloe Magee had the lone hit in the inning, a run-scoring single. Magee scored two runs. Naomi Robles was 1 for 2 with a two-run double and two runs scored.
Lexi Crenshaw had a double and a run scored for the Whitehouse Bombers.
Troup 7, Florence 4: Troup scored five runs in the first and made them stand up, withstanding a Florence rally. Lee Ann Loyd had two triples and two RBIs, and Hanna McCleod had a triple, double and two RBIs. Gabby Ramirez was 2 for 3 with two runs, Alexis McCollum was 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI for Florence.
Troup 8, Brownsboro 1: Josee Ross had 12 strikeouts – nine swinging – and Troup had 12 hits to stay alive in the tournament. Nine-hole hitter Madison Martin had a double, single and three RBIs, and LeeAnn Loyd had three hits and two runs. Kenzi Chambers singled, stole a base and scored on a throwing error for Brownsboro.
Whitehouse 12, Alba-Golden 10: A seven-run fourth helped Whitehouse eliminate Alba-Golden. Victoria Caldwell went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and two runs, and Lexi Crenshaw blasted a two-run, first-inning home run for Whitehouse. Courtney Luckett had two hits and two runs for Alba-Golden, and Caitlin Lennon scored three times.
