Breanna Wells had nine kills, eight blocks and 17 digs as the Kerens LadyCats beat Dawson 25-19, 25-9, 23-25, 27-25 in a 14-1A match Tuesday night.
Kerens (16-10, 7-3) was led by Marqueshia Kelly, who had 13 kills and three blocks. Taylor Ames was 16 for 19 on serves with a block and two kills. Cambree Betts had five blocks, a kill and four digs. Tinesha Tolliver had two kills, nine digs and was 20 for 21 on serves. Kayla Kilcrease had 10 digs.
Dawson is 10-12 overall and 4-6 in district.
Mildred beats Buffalo: Mildred opened up the second half of District 23-2A with a 25-12, 25-10, 25-10 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday.
Mildred (18-16, 4-2) was led by Jenny Jock, had seven kills and three assists. Olivia Farmer had 16 kills, two aces and nine digs. Morgan McCreary had an assist and two digs. Audra Springer had 10 kills and seven digs. Savannah Pritchett had five kills and eight digs.
Stephanie Zamora had two aces, four digs and 20 assists. Kennedi Montfort had two digs. Callie Bland had nine digs and three kills. Aubyn Turner had five assists, two aces and three digs. Maddie Moore had six assists and a dig.
Corsicana falls to Lindale: District 16-4A leader Lindale swept three sets from the Tigers on Tuesday, 25-10, 25-13, 25-11. The Tigers fell to 2-4 in 16-4A.

Eye on the Prize
Dave “Coach” Robertstad, an avid birdwatcher and outdoor enthusiast, could have kept his teaching focused on standard P.E. activities like kickball, dodgeball or basketball but he answered a higher calling. Instead, Coach Robertstad took it upon himself to create the OAK program alongside his standard P.E. curriculum as a means of teaching his students critical outdoor skills.
