UPDATE: Last week TCA lost to Bryan Brazos Christian 35-0 … the Pacers have been outscored 138-6 in their three games … their only touchdown came when Erbe hit Daniels on a 12-yard score against Wortham … last year the Polar Bears beat TCA at Floyd Casey Stadium 44-26. Friday’s game is homecoming for the Polar Bears … Frost beat Itasca 39-14 last week to continue a great start to the season ... Woods had seven tackles, 132 yards rushing and a 51-yard touchdown reception from Stroder ... UPDATE: Wortham continued its back-and-forth start to the season with a 21-20 victory over Cross Roads, needing a stop on a two-point conversion late in the game to seal the victory ... the Bulldogs have a nice running back situation going with Freeman rushing for 254 yards and Kyle Goerner for 220 yards ... Campbell has two TD receptions and is averaging 19 yards per catch ... Wortham’s defense has been stingy on third downs, allowing conversions only 29 percent of the time ... Freeman, Campbell and Goerner all are tied for the team lead with two INTs ... Wortham has been outscored in the second half 48-20 ... Itasca still looks for its first win after leading briefly at Frost before getting routed 39-14 by the unbeaten Polar Bears ... the Wampus Cats have some athletes led by physical runner A.C. Campbell, who had 59 yards on 12 carries against Frost ... Campbell did leave the game with an injury but did return ... Bailey can get to the corner and had 71 yards on 17 carries last week.

Rice won in OT in 2008, while the Wildcats won the next year, 6-0 … the Bulldogs spent the off week getting healthy after struggling with injuries during the first three weeks ... Ragan Henderson set a school records with 344 yards rushing and six touchdowns two weeks ago in the win over the Cross Roads Bobcats … Rice had 613 yards of total offense, including 554 yards rushing, against the Bobcats … senior QB Dalton Pike completed two of three passes for 59 yards, including a 43-yard strike to Codie Pair … the Bulldog defense stymied Cross Roads with three INTs, including two by Pair … Scurry-Rosser edged the Red Oak Life Mustangs, 22-20, on a fourth quarter field goal by freshman Tristan Westbrook … Justin Youngblood had 12 tackles and a sack against the Mustangs … the Wildcats’ ground game was led by Collan Jasien, filling in for the injured Tyler Garrison, with 121 yards on 19 carries and two TDs.

UPDATE: Last week, Valley Mills evened its season record at 2-2 with a narrow 14-12 win over Class 2A Dublin ... Hubbard defeated Italy 33-8 last week on the road to improve to 3-1 as the Jags defense held the Gladiators to 150 yards of total offense ... in the continued absence of RB Bradley Walker, Hubbard got another strong performance from Henderson who rushed for 192 yards on 34 carries ... Walker is expected to return this week for Hubbard to further bolster a strong rushing attack ... Martin completed just 4-of-14 passes last week but three of the completions went for TDs with Simmons grabbing two of them ... in its win over Dublin, the Eagles rushed 65 times for 297 yards while picking up 33 first downs ... Hodges had 132 yards and a score on 19 carries for Valley Mills while Lewis added 122 yards on 22 rushes ... last year, Hubbard lost 34-32 in a barnburner at Valley Mills in Week 2 ... the Jaguars hold an 8-3-1 all time advantage in the series.
