Kerens routs Valley Mills, 46-14
VALLEY MILLS — Kerens had no problem Friday night in Valley Mills as the Bobcats walked away with a 46-14 victory.
After a three-and-out on defense to start off the game, the Kerens offense, led by Pat Faulk, marched down the field and eventually scored on a 9-yard run by Faulk.
This would be the start of the night for Kerens. The Bobcats would score two more times before Valley Mills found the end zone for the first time with 8:05 left in the second quarter. Micheal Jordan scored on touchdown runs of 8 and 33 yards.
From then on both the offense and defense of Kerens dominated. The defense only allowed 73 yards rushing against an offense that ran the majority of the night. The offense mirrored the performance by rushing for 248 yards and passing for 149.
Valley Mills would score one more time with :03 seconds left.
Kerens coach Russell Anderson, who is to start treatment for cancer soon, was in attendance but did not call plays.
"Overall we did a good job, looked sloppy at times, but we are a work in progress," Anderson said. "We're going to enjoy the win and come Monday and we're gonna start preparing for a Leon team that always proves to be a tough opponent."
