Rice falls to Quinlan Boles, 42-0
The difference: Boles’s Kailob Wallace rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, passed for 122 yards, returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a score, and intercepted a pass on defense.
Standouts: For Rice, Geoffrey Hammonds rushed for 41 yards and picked off a pass in the endzone. Blake Lewis had 46 yards total offense. Lane Sutton rushed for over 100 yards and three touchdowns to pace the Hornets.
Game notes: Rice QB Kenneth Hart made an unusual play – he completed a pass to himself … Blake Lewis had a 53 yard punt and averaged 35.5 yards per punt … Boles had nine different ball carriers rush for almost 300 yards … Rice will host Itasca next week in their home opener.
