The Blooming Grove Extreme won last week's 10-under TTAS district tournament in Eustace, and will play at the state tournament next week in Jacksonville.
The Extreme went 4-0 and beat the Athens Sneaky Cleats 12-2, the Mildred Eagles 15-0 and the Athens Batbusters twice, beating them 16-8 and 16-5 in the championship game.
Mildred's Nic Shimonek played in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game on Saturday. But before the game, he won the Class 1A-3A Home Run Derby.
GC FOOTBALL: Texas Football ranks Golden Circle teams
Texas Football magazine, which was released this week, ranked Mildred No. 10 in Class 2A and Hubbard No. 9 in Class 1A and lists Corsicana's Devontay Bell as one of the top 30 quarterbacks in the state.
