Callie Bland had three two-hit games and Joanna Tapley and Aubyn Turner picked up wins on the mound as Mildred won two out of three games on the opening day of the Canton Tournament.
Mildred lost to Malakoff, 7-5, with Olivia Farmer and Tapley producing doubles in the defeat.
Famrer had two RBIs and Bland was 2 for 3 with an RBI in a 10-2 win over Wills Point. Turner was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scores.
Mildred also beat Mount Pleasant, 8-6, behind the pitching of Turner and a double and two RBIs from Brianna Weaver.

Eye on the Prize
Dave “Coach” Robertstad, an avid birdwatcher and outdoor enthusiast, could have kept his teaching focused on standard P.E. activities like kickball, dodgeball or basketball but he answered a higher calling. Instead, Coach Robertstad took it upon himself to create the OAK program alongside his standard P.E. curriculum as a means of teaching his students critical outdoor skills.
