alen Seahorn scored the go-ahead touchdown midway through the fourth quarter and an interception by Gavin Kirkhart sealed a 26-23 victory for Eustace over the Rice Bulldogs, spoiling a sensational game by Ragan Henderson in the Bulldogs’ home opener.
Seahorn finished the night with 218 yards to lead the Eustace ground game which totaled over 500 yards for the night, including two other backs going over the 100 yard mark.
Henderson led all rushers with 244 yards and three touchdowns.
Henderson gave Rice its first lead of the night on a 15-yard score early in the fourth quarter, after taking over in Eustace territory after the Bulldog defense stopped Eustace on fourth down.
Henderson accounted for all 34 yards on the drive on just four carries. Eustace responded by going 76 yards on 9 plays, capped by Seahorn’s 8-yard touchdown on fourth down with just over 6 minutes remaining in the game.
