The No. 5 ranked Navarro Bulldogs made big waves in Florida this weekend, winning two matches.
Navarro (11-0-2), ranked fifth nationally by the NJCAA and fourth by the coaches, beat No. 12 Polk 2-0 on Friday. JoAnna scored the first goal with assists from Nugene Nugent and Rachele Hielckert. Kayla Ward scored the second goal with assists from Jodian Morris and Nugent.
Amber Henderson recorded a clean sheet in 90 minutes of action in the goal.
Navarro beat Broward County 3-2 on Saturday with goals from Hielckert, Nugent and Ginesha Pickersgill. Judith Bast and Nugent had two assists each.
Henderson recorded 5 saves.

Dave “Coach” Robertstad, an avid birdwatcher and outdoor enthusiast, could have kept his teaching focused on standard P.E. activities like kickball, dodgeball or basketball but he answered a higher calling. Instead, Coach Robertstad took it upon himself to create the OAK program alongside his standard P.E. curriculum as a means of teaching his students critical outdoor skills.
