CHS Soccer: Teams come up with ties vs. Waxahachie

TYLER — The Corsicana boys and girls soccer teams both played to draws against Waxahachie on Friday night.

The Lady Tigers (9-4-5, 2-2-2) responded from a tough loss on Tuesday to tie Waxahachie 1-1 and remain in fourth place in district.

Meanwhile, the Tiger boys continued to play well, tying the Indians 1-1. Corsicana nearly pulled off an upset, but Waxahachie evened the score with a goal with five minutes left.

The Tigers (8-6-4, 2-2-2) are in third place in district headed into a match Tuesday against Lancaster. Ferris comes to Tiger Stadium on Friday for senior night.

“If both teams can go 2-0 this week, we can lock up at least a fourth seed (in the playoffs) in both the boys and the girls,” Tigers coach Stan Jones said.
