Ms. Heather Elaine Hilburn and Mr. Adrian Santiago Perez were united in marriage at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2010, at A&M Gardens in Azle, Texas. A reception followed in the gardens banquet facility.
Following the ceremony, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served while photographs were taken.
The bride is the daughter of Lowell and Nora Hilburn of Waxahachie and the granddaughter of Otto and Glenna Baker, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Santos Vasquez.
Adrian is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Epifanio Perez of Waxahachie.
The couple exchanged vows at sunset in the beautiful sunken garden, surrounded by family and friends. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Rob Saenz.
The bride entered on the arm of her father to the ballad “Everything” by Lifehouse. The bride wore a diamond white beaded bodice gown, by Maggie Sottero with a matching veil and headpiece. She carried a bouquet of roses, hypericum berries, orchids, and calla lilies, in various shades of green, orange and cocoa.
The maid of honor was Clarissa Lee Hilburn, the brides sister. Serving as bridesmaids were Lauren Wood of Tyler, Savannah Tucker of Livingston, Leah McWhorter of Waxahachie and Sarah Smith of San Marcos. Flower girls were the beautiful Gracee Hilburn, Alexis Perez and Hydee Hilburn.
The bestman was Joe Perez, the grooms brother. Serving as groomsmen were Luis Perez, Jose Cruz and Mikey McWhorter. The ring bearer was the handsome Dylan Birdwell.
Following the cocktail hour, guests were ushered in to their tables which were draped in white satin, with large hurricane candleholders illuminating amber lights. The guests were served southern comfort food prepared by the mother, aunt and uncle of the bride.
The bride’s four-tier wedding cake was decorated in a buttercream, cream-cheese icing, with layers of butter pecan, orange creme, Hershey’s “Perfectly Chocolate”, and vanilla. The wedding cake featured a tree pattern designed by the bride, matching the couple’s wedding guest book. The guest book was a canvas that depicted a hand painted tree, painted by the bride’s father, which included the fingerprints and signatures of all the guests as the leaves.
Heather is a graduate of the University of North Texas, with her Bachelors in business and marketing. She is currently employed by Paragon as a proposal writer. Adrian is a graduate of Waxahachie High School. He is currently employed at Cardinal Glass as a Coating Supervisor.
Following their honeymoon in the Florida Keys, the couple will reside in their new home, located in Waxahachie.
