Ashley Nicole English and Jacob Eugene Ward were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2011, at the Earl Harrison House and Pape Gardens in Waco with Rev. Rick Woodall officiating the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Mary English of Blooming Grove, granddaughter of Garland and Phyllis English of Corsicana, Chris Summers of Blooming Grove and James Summers of Arlington.
The groom is the son of Eugene and Jana Ward of Mildred, grandson of Raymond Lewis of Dawson, Thelma Lewis of Corsicana, and Lana and Jack Ward of Oklahoma.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The bride wore a Maggie Sottero white, strapless, fit to flare gown, featuring angular beaded embellishment with sparkling Swarovski crystals with a pleated bust line and asymmetrically ruched bodice. She wore a white petite rhinestone and pearl veil. Her bouquet was composed of purple hydrangeas and white and lavender roses.
Maid of honor was Sarah Starnes of Austin. Bridesmaids were Emily Griggs of Corsicana, Jennifer Price of Corsicana, Courtnie Itchner of Corsicana, and Erica English, the bride’s sister of Blooming Grove.
Flower girl was Marleigh Ward, the groom’s sister of Mildred and ring bearer was Cody Poore of Wylie. Taud Taylor, cousin of the bride and Hagen Williams served as ushers for the wedding.
The groom was attended by best man Jeffrey Price of Corsicana. Groomsmen were Casey Henderson of Corsicana, David Skinner of Corsicana, Leonard Moore of Corsicana and Mark Coffey of Corsicana.
The ceremony took place on the five acres of manicured lawns and gardens of Waco’s oldest restored ante-bellum home. Brick and concrete walkways lined the grounds, and a double gazebo and huge live oak trees created an intimate shaded setting for the 4:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held beneath elegant white tents on the grounds with white Chinese paper lanterns looped over the dance floor. The wedding and reception incorporated a dark purple, champagne and white palette to compliment the fall flush of blooms surrounding the grounds. White wooden chairs and tables draped with white linen table clothes and covered with dark purple overlays were elegantly decorated with crystal candelabras centerpieces, twinkle lights, flowers and candles. Guests enjoyed a buffet style dinner of beef brisket, ham and pork loin with all the fixings. The bride’s three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with cream cheese butter cream icing that featured dark purple orchids, rhinestones and a monogram cake topper that was crafted by the groom’s mother. The groom’s cake was a double tier chocolate cake with chocolate dipped strawberry’s and topped with a rangers baseball carved from chocolate cake and covered with fondant, which reflected the fun personality of the groom. Guests were also treated to a chocolate fountain surrounded by delectable goodies and a galaxy of sweets candy buffet.
Photography was by Elaine Poore of Elaine’s Photography, flowers were done by Designs by Jan, DJ Services were provided by W3 Entertainment, and catering was provided by Richard and Donna Childress of CC Trading Post in Corsicana.
