Corsicana —
Jamie D'Lee Brown and Lance Cpl. Robert Albert Allen III were united in marriage at 3 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2011, at Roseland Plantation in Ben Wheeler. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. David A. McCullough.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Brown Jr., of Malakoff. Jamie is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Del Ware of Marble Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Bonner of Corsicana, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Christall of Teague, and Mr. and Mrs. James Brown of Corsicana. Jamie is a 2009 graduate of Malakoff High and is currently a student of Navarro College.
The groom is the son of Sgt. Maj. and Mrs. Robert Allen Jr. of Tarawa Terrace, N.C. Robert is also the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Sr. of Portland, Maine; and Mrs. James Roberts of Pownal, Maine, and the Late Mr. James Roberts. He is also the great-grandson of Ms. Mary Bowden of Portland, Maine. Robert is a 2008 Graduate of Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine, and attended Husson University in Bangor, Maine, before enlisting in the USMC in 2009.
The bride entered the historic Hambrick Chapel at Roseland Plantation on the arm of her father. She wore a white, all over lace, A-line halter dress with pearl beaded embroidery, featuring an empire waist, split front, and sweep train with a matching beaded veil. She carried a bouquet of long stem fresh cut deep red roses accented with lush greens and white satin ribbon. The church pews were decorated with gold and silver bows. Guests in attendance came from Corsicana, Malakoff, Teague, Athens, Dallas, Marble Falls, Round Rock, North Carolina, and Mississippi. The guest book was a custom gold trimmed plate that depicted a hand painted monogrammed marine and bride couple and included the signatures of all the guests.
The maid of honor was the bride's sister, Miss Dalena Brown of Corsicana. The bridesmaids were the Bride's best friends Miss Morgan Coker, and Miss Ariel Clendening, both of Malakoff. All of the attendants wore short coordinating black strapless charmeuse dresses featuring a ruched waist and they carried bouquets of fresh cut red roses. The flower girl and Ring Bearer were brother and sister, Alana and Zakary Preusse, the Bride’s cousins from Round Rock. Alana was stunning in her tea-length red and black dress featuring a tie-back empire waistband and full skirt. She carried her doll who wore an identical dress. Zakary was looking sharp in his three piece black tux that featured subtle red pin-stripping on the vest.
The best man was the groom's father, Sgt. Maj. Robert A. Allen Jr., of Tarawa Terrace, N.C. who wore USMC dress blues. The groomsman was the groom's best friend, Nate Cairo of San Diego, Calif. He wore a black tux, red satin vest and tie, with a red boutonnière.
Following the wedding, a reception was held in the elegant Windsor House Parlor, located on the grounds of Roseland Plantation. The bride’s three-tier wedding cake was red velvet decorated in a white buttercream, cream-cheese icing. The wedding cake featured a Marine and Bride cake topper with black satin ribbon, strands of pearls, and red roses on each layer. The grooms cake was chocolate and decorated with the eagle, globe, and anchor Marine emblem, and was surrounded by chocolate dipped strawberries.
The Groom has been deployed to Afghanistan so the couple will plan a honeymoon upon his return. Upon the Groom's return to the U.S.A. they will reside at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
