Lindsey Davis and Justin Hale were united in marriage at 7 p.m. June 24 at Northside Baptist Church Corsicana. Rick Lamb officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Margaret Davis of Corsicana. She is a 2004 graduate of Corsicana High School and is currently working towards her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. The groom is the son of Tim and Debbie McCracken of China Springs and David and Kelly Hale of Corsicana. He is a 2002 graduate of Corsicana High School and is a corporal in the United States Marine Corps.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin, A-line gown with beautiful lace embroidered cap sleeves, side draping, and beaded metallic embroidery adorned the bodice and skirt, a delicate three-foot chapel train followed. She wore a detailed two-tier sequined edged finger-tipped veil, and carried a fresh bouquet made of white daisies, purple irises, yellow roses, one sweet magnolia flower in remembrance of her great-grandmother and array of small, soft green flowers filled the bouquet. It was finished with a wrapping of deep purple silk.
The altar area was decorated with four brilliantly-composed old iron window-paned structures filled with descending vines of seemingly endless purple flowers. Each panel held between lush ferns and the tips of the floor were touched with a simple elegance of rustic candle arbors running with sweet floral and lit with entrancing glowing candles.
Tara Davis served as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Tara Short, Jamie Donahue and Addie Marshall. The bridesmaids all wore soft hush tones of yellow rhinestone belted tea-length dresses. All carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. Jennifer Andrews served as the flower girl in a sleeveless satin gown with a beaded tulle skirt and a yellow satin sash, a halo of lovely daisies laid wonderfully upon her head as she carried a unique basket filled with deep colored rose petals.
Chris Vent and Josh Smith served as the best men. Groomsmen were Demetrius Chapman and Justin Goodnight. Ushers were Sammy Lattner, Lance Lewis and Cameron Hogan. The groom ushered his mother and stepmother down the aisle. Kaleb Hook was the ring bearer.
Organist was Beverly Hale and the bride entered the church to Pachelbel’s “Cannon.”
The reception was held at the Lee Holsey barn in Roane. As the guests entered the barn they were overtaken by the decorations of lights and a wall of hay with framed family memories upon the hay. Old wooden doors worked as tables while an extraordinary flower bouquet graced the table. A “table of honor” to the side was filled with photos of the dearly departed friends and family of the bride and groom. The barn was filled with delicately-covered tables with hues of purple, yellow, sage green and whites, graced with gorgeous floral arrangements.
Guests dined on a fajita dinner provided with a selection of appetizers. The bride’s cake was a luscious four-tiered butter cream cake with an extravagant floral topping. The groom’s cake was a tasteful chocolate cake, overflowing with batches of chocolate covered strawberries and grapes.
The newly-wedded couple departed through a shower of lengthy wedding sparklers, the splendor of the dancing lights adding a distinctive feel to the exit ceremony. After a honeymoon in a secluded water-front cabin, the couple now resides in Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, N.C.
Members of the house party were Ashley Meador, Kacee Garland, Jordan Gannon and Cheyenne Gannon.
Liz Talley and the TNT band provided entertainment for the reception. Photographer was Kay Cummins. Florist was Anna Sanders, and the cakes were designed by Robbie Pate. Evening Shade Catering and Event Planning coordinated the event.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the groom’s parents in Corsicana. The American-themed dinner was overflowing with the aroma of tasty barbecue and southern foods. Guests were present from Texas, California, Washington, D.C., Montana and Alberta, Canada.
