Katherine Delia Ann Ott and Justin Ryan Johnson were united in marriage at 4 p.m. June 26, 2011 at the Central Presbyterian Church in Waxahachie. The Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiated the traditional wedding. A reception followed at the Waxahachie Civic Center Ballroom. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Amanda Ott of Waxahachie, the granddaughter of B.G. and Delia Williams of Waxahachie, and granddaughter of David and Dianne Ott of Waxahachie. She is also the great-granddaughter of Clara Williams of Corsicana, and Wyona Blakesly of Italy. The groom is the son of Rickey and Susan Johnson of Waxahachie, and the grandson of Troy and Louise Farr of Waco.
The couple exchanged vows at 4 p.m. in the afternoon. Music for the ceremony was provided by Randy Palmer, organist of Waxahachie Central Presbyterian Church. The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with candles and vibrant floral décor in deep coral roses, white roses, white hydrangeas, pink roses, bell of Ireland, berries and other seasonal flowers. The bride entered on the arm of her father to the accompaniment of Richard Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus.” The bride’s bouquet consisted of large hand-tied orange calla lilies, deep red calla lilies, green orchids, coral roses and pink roses, along with other blooms, with the stems wrapped in ivory satin ribbon with gems/crystals added. For her wedding, the bride chose a formal gown by David Tutera. It was an ivory, sweetheart neckline, A-line, floor-length gown covered in beaded lace and Swarovski crystals with a pleated organza hem, and a Swarovski crystals jeweled belt at the natural waist. The veil was cathedral-length and highlighted with Swarovski crystals.
The bridesmaids wore beautiful Evan Picone black satin gowns with a surplice V-neckline, back V-neckline with empire waists accented by satin bows, and knee-length. They carried hand-tied bouquets made with coral roses and orange blooms, with the stems wrapped in coral/orange ribbon.
Serving as maid of honor and best friend was Audra Williams of Waxahachie. Attending the bride were Alyssa Anderson of Waxahachie, Ashley Gegenheimer of Corsicana, Kellye Johnson of Waxahachie, and junior bridesmaid Amanda Boswell of Athens. The flower girls were Molly Boswell of Athens and Jenny Ann Sherlock of Burleson. The groom was attended by best man and best friend Tim Blevins of Waxahachie. Groomsmen were John Greb of Dallas, Billy Ott of Waxahachie, Pate Norment of Paris and junior groomsman Gunther Strength of Waxahachie. The ring bearer was Noah Boswell of Athens.
Following the ceremony was the reception, held at the beautiful ballroom of Waxahachie Civic Center. The bride chose a summer garden look. Inside the tables were draped with ivory, copper, and olive crinkle taffeta. Each table displayed flower trees with tall glass vases, with gems hanging and votive candles. A lavish buffet was provided for guests. The head table had two large tree arrangements with candles, and a wood/natural element. The bride chose a white six-tiered cake embellished with sparkling white bows, and vintage crystal brooches in the center. The table was draped in gold taffeta. The groom’s cake was a three-tier German chocolate cake decorated with chocolate-dipped strawberries, served on a table draped in copper taffeta.
Members of the house party included Rachel Underwood of Waxahachie, Jackie Williams of Corsicana, Joan Delagarza of Corsicana, and Betty Humphrey of Tolar.
On the evening before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Johnson, who provided a wonderful evening which included dinner catered by George’s of Waco, an open bar from The Palm of Dallas, and following dinner, finished off the night with a dance.
The newly wedded couple departed through a shower of bubbles for a honeymoon in Karisma’s El Dorado Royale in Maya Riviera, Mexico. Katherine is employed with State Farm Insurance as the marketing coordinator and Justin is employed by J and G Concrete Products as quality control and safety manager.
